Oh my Goodness!! We got to sleep in past 5am today! WHOA!! In fact we all slept in until about 10am – and then we all very slowly got ready for the day… For most of the day all we really did was some shopping, bought some souvenirs, and toured around a bit.. We pretty much just wanted a relaxing day….
However we did go to a reptile Centre…. Hey it was cheap and the reptiles were all (well mostly all) in cages… We stayed long enough for the talk – which was actually very educational and made me feel a bit better about the scary snakes and lizards in Australia. We also got to hold a blue tongue lizard and a bearded dragon – that put me out of my comfort zone enough I didn’t need to hold the snake… Lindsey and Lise were brave enough – but quite frankly I’m not putting anything around my neck that squeezes its prey to death – thank you very much.
After dinner (which we didn’t cook or have to clean up after!) we went to a didgeridoo show. Which to be honest I didn’t like the didgeridoo when I first got here – but now I love it – I have such a respect for people who can play it and to be honest I would love to get one for myself… maybe one day…The show was amazing! The first song felt like it was raining and I was stuck in the middle of a thunderstorm. The second half of the show – everybody was allowed to play along with the band; we had hand shakers and some people played drums. After the show the three of us bought a CD got it signed by the band and took pictures with the band… After all the excitement headed back to our hostel for the night because oh you guessed it another early start!
