Anyway today was spent HUNG OVER.... and pretty much relaxing... we checked out some malls and did some little things around where Adam lives.. nothing too strenuous (except of course the live slaughter house of all sorts of little creatures - that was pleasant). We checked out an old fort which was neat climbed in and out and up the whole thing... There hasn't been too many pictures lately because my camera died after the first day so for the last two days I didn't have a camera... There are a few pics from the fort that I will post though... and Cassie took pictures from the last two days soo I'll steal hers and post some... Adams been sick the entire week and finally decided to go to the doctors... He has "The Bronchittis" (however it's spelt - too lazy to look it up)... and was given practically the entire pharmacy of meds... it was a little ridiculous.. but hey hopefully it makes him better... We went to a town called Discovery Bay - which is a nice little beach and I would say in the summer would be packed - but considering it is the winter and a brisky 16 degrees (sarcasm) it was dead... there were a ton of small restaurants so of course nobody could come to a decision so the girls picks Italian..... which to be honest was terrible the door was open and we all froze and the food wasn't even that good.. it was just miserable.. we should have gone with the guys choice..... (I didn't admit that of course until now).
Wednesday (Feb 2nd): So now that everybody feels like humans again (well mostly me and still not 100%) we decide to go back to the tourists role again... only this time Farzan gets an itch. You know we have been in Hong Kong for 6 days now that's a long time for Farzan to stay in one place. So he gets an itch - he decides he wants another stamp in his passport... So off to Mainland China we go.... We took a bus and a subway to get there so no planes but we still have to go through security and the whole 9 yards, so now I have a stamp when I entered HK, left HK, entered China, left China (with a Visa that takes up a whole page), and of course left HK when I departed for Australia (but technically according to my blog that hasn't happened yet)... So my passport is getting fancy!! It kind of looks likes Farzans.. haha.. Anyway we went over to Mainland China to shop - but of course!! This is more like what I was expecting.... Anyways the shopping mall is insane... absolutly insane... it has 5 or 6 floors, and each floor has hundreds and hundreds of stores.... they sell... well you name it they have it - cell phones, ipods, ipads, designer shoes and bags, and clothes... this that and the other thing too!! Mind you I'd say about 99.9% of everything in there is fake (for example instead of the Ipad it is known as the HIpad) it was still really cool! Everything was dirt cheap to begin with and then you barder.... well if anyone out there knows me i'm sure you all know how good of a barder i am ... haha yeah right.. anyway it was cool to see.. one day I want to go back there to actually shop - my bags were already too full to buy any more stuff... People bring empty suitcases to fill up once they are done their shopping... and to make it more interesting Police officers walk around constantly - because apparently it's not exactly legal... anywayyysss... After mainland we went to this place called the Schtoop (or something along the lines) it is a South American BBQ restaurant... I got the hamburger.. it was pretty decent...
OH MY GOODNESS - I forgot to mention the toilet situations there... there are these things called squaters - nope not homeless people - toilets.... Where you literally squat right down to the ground and do your thing in a hole - practically - this would explain why in normal bathrooms with actual toilets you go in there and the toilet seat is up - and there is pee all over the place.. nice eh... Anyway yesterday at the Australian airport I decide to go to the bathroom after the flight before I get my luggage - so there is a door that is swinging open and is not locked I go and try and use it and smack a chinese girl in the head with the door - she was "squatting" over the actual toilet and couldn't be bothered to LOCK the door... anyway I tried my hardest not to "throw my head back and hold my stomach in laughter - HA HA HA" - yep I said it! Well that pretty much sums up my Hong Kong adventure... Maybe tomorrow I'll fill you in about Aussie Land - I will say this though I forgot sunscreen this morning and am now burnt - hows the snow Ontario?? hehe...
So long Hong Kong!
